Product Momentum at 150

Reflecting on 150 Episodes of Lessons and Learnings

When you care as much about the industry that you serve as the dedicated podcast team at ITX Corp. does, it shows up in what you produce. These days, we call it marketing.

But when we started Product Momentum in 2018, we called it an experiment. We wanted to see if we could play even a small role in supporting our product community by freely sharing access to the knowledge that is locked up in the brains of many thought leaders.

Now we see it as our mission to entertain, educate, and celebrate the writers, speakers, movers, and makers who fuel a passion for innovation to our growing audience of product managers, UX designers, engineers, and business leaders.

We have been so lucky! Personally, I have been so privileged to record episodes with some of the most inspiring thought leaders in the software product industry. Along this journey, I’ve learned invaluable lessons – lessons that have shaped me deeply as both a leader and a person. As I look back, I feel vulnerable, humbled, and incredibly grateful for the opportunities the product community and my team here ITX have given me.

Tips and Tricks for AI Prompt Writing According to ITX Research

There is no magic bullet to making AI chatbots (aka Large Language Models[1]) perfectly accurate. Even if you follow our guide on Best AI Prompt Writing Practices[2], you may still struggle to get the AI to follow your instructions exactly. But, through our research on best practices, we also found some phrases that can alter how an LLM will respond.

But first, let’s set a baseline. To observe how much we can affect an LLM’s output, we need to have a control. So, here’s a regular question for Microsoft Copilot, no bells or whistles. Let’s see what we get back (be warned, this is a taffy-heavy post!).

Best AI Prompt Writing Practices According to ITX Research

ITX is no stranger to experimenting with new and interesting technologies. Of course, hot-button and top-of-mind is AI-generated content: does it have a place within copywriting?

And while we at the ITX Content Team believe it does, we’ve continued to investigate the technology. Our research, which includes several internal experiments, has led us to believe that it could be a useful tool for a content writer, with some major caveats

So, how can you get the most out of a large language model (LLM)? If rumors are to be believed, everyone’s already using AI for everything. If that’s true, then how does anyone stand out if we’re all using the same programs?

Really, there is no secret. There are many different schools of thought, and some tricks you can use to improve an AI’s output, but it’s up in the air at the moment. Our general philosophy: to get good out, you’ve got to put good in.

Content Creation and Management: Why Less is More

As writers and content builders, we enjoy the creative process. So much so, that we often fall into the “if some is good, more is better” trap. As we know, this is rarely true. Finding the right balance between content length, simplicity, and clarity is essential in satisfying your audience. Our task is to place limits on the creative process and embrace a “Less Is More” mindset.

Is there such a thing as the right amount of Content? Of simplicity? Of clarity? As with all writing concerns, the right answer requires more than a prescriptive, one-and-done response. So much is audience dependent. Human nature is amazingly complex and sometimes confusing; it requires us as creators to explore each creation subjectively, mindful of each audience’s expectations.
